At Sherman’s Flatbush Memorial Chapel we have served the Jewish community of Greater New York for over 100 years. With two chapels, our Jewish funeral home in Brooklyn is able to accommodate a variety of needs that a family may have. Founded in 1898, Sherman’s Flatbush Memorial chapel remains one of the few family-owned and independently operated Jewish funeral homes in Brooklyn, Midwood and the entire New York City area. Our funeral director, Joe Sherman, is a fourth generation funeral director and leads our team of dedicated funeral directors and funeral home staff.

Brooklyn Bridge or Battery Tunnel to Brooklyn Queens Expressway (278) West.  Take to Prospect Expressway (if before 11AM on weekdays see below).  This becomes Ocean Parkway, proceed to Avenue J and turn left.  ontinue on Avenue J to Coney Island Avenue and turn left.  We are in the middle of the block on the right  side. The entrance to the Prospect Expressway is closed weekdays until 11 AM due to the HOV lane.  Exit at  Hamilton Avenue and proceed to 17th Street.  Turn left onto 17th Street and cross over 4th Avenue.  The entrance to the Prospect Expressway will be on your left.

FROM LONG ISLAND
Belt Parkway West to Exit 7(Ocean Parkway North).  Continue on service road to traffic light and turn right onto  cean Parkway.  Proceed to Avenue J and turn right. Continue on Avenue J to Coney Island Avenue and turn  left. We are in the middle of the block on the right side.

FROM SOUTHERN NEW JERSEY & STATEN ISLAND
Staten Island Expressway (278) to Verrazano Bridge.  Exit onto Belt Parkway East to Exit 7(Ocean Parkway ). Continue on service road to traffic light and turn left onto Ocean Parkway.  Proceed to Avenue J and turn right. Continue on Avenue J to Coney Island Avenue and turn left.  We are in the middle of the block on the right side.

FROM NORTHERN NEW JERSEY
George Washington Bridge to F.D.R. Drive South.  To either Brooklyn Bridge or Battery Tunnel. Continue to
Brooklyn Queens Expressway (278) West.  Take to Prospect Expressway (if before 11AM on weekdays see below).  This becomes Ocean Parkway, proceed to Avenue J and turn left.  Continue on Avenue J to Coney Island Avenue and turn left.  We are in the middle of the block on the right side.

Whitestone Bridge to Van Wyck Expressway South.  Exit onto Belt Parkway West to Exit 7(Ocean Parkway).  Continue on service road to traffic light and turn right onto Ocean Parkway.  Proceed to Avenue J and turn right. Continue on Avenue J to Coney Island Avenue and turn left.  We are in the middle of the block on the right side.

BY TRAIN
B train to Newkirk Avenue, switch to the Q.  Take two stops to Avenue J.  (If the B is running local than take directly to Avenue J)  When exiting the station you will be on Avenue J and East 15th Street turn left and walk four blocks down Avenue J to Coney Island Avenue.  Turn right on Coney Island Avenue.  We are in the middle of the block on the right side.

BY BUS
The B-68, which is the Coney Island Avenue bus, stops at either the corner of Avenue J or Avenue I. The B-6 or the B- 11 stops on Coney Island Avenue and Avenue J
